Well after a hectic last week I want to take a quick moment to update everyone on the recent visit to India. I want to thank each of you for the prayers and support for all of us. The team is doing much better and have engaged in various types of ministries around Delhi. From working at a local orphanage to loving the needy in the leper colonies, each has taken the couple days off to focus on what matters most. I am so proud of each and am overjoyed at the opportunity I had to share with them and encourage them as they enter into the last four months of their world race. It has been an honor to be a part of their family.
The last weekend in India, a small group of us traveled with Mike and Kathy to a small community north of Delhi to participate in a seminar being hosted by some pastoral friends. It was great to see the Lord pour His Spirit out in our midst. It was refreshing considering the travel and introduction to the Delhi traffic and conditions was very challenging. In comparison it was of little cost when we each shared a message and then prayed for and with those in attendance. I must tell you I was once again humbled at the mere fact that I was in India praying with other believers. It has been such a blessing to be a messenger of God’s grace, mercy and love! Thanks to each of you who have supported me as we make these trips possible.
After nearly 38 hours of travel I was returning to the US. And within 36 hours, exhausted and yet energized, Mike and I traveled to Gainesville, GA to be a part of the October 2008 World Race squad’s training camp.
Having just left a team who is coming in to the last leg of their trip and now meeting with a team who is just getting ready to go out, I had to take a moment to reflect. This is who I am and how it is so different then where I was just two years ago. I am learning all the more what it means to be called to serve the field workers. It is great and amazing. I feel like this is the type of work I could really enjoy. I am eager and anxious to see how this continues to unfold.
I am eager to share more as it comes. In the mean time here are some more photos of India and the images that continue to draw me out into the nations. These are from the seminar, one of the slum villages in norther India, the countryside and a couple of Delhi.
Blessings to each of you!!
